Introduction to facility of IFMIF/EVEDA prototype accelerator at Rokkasho Fusion Institute in QST

Description
EVEDA (Engineering Validation and Engineering Design Activities) of IFMIF (International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility) was started in 2007, and IFMIF prototype accelerator is being installed as a joint project between Japan and Europe at the Quantum Science and Technology Agency Rokkasho Fusion Research Institute, and its construction / adjustment / commissioning are underway. The IFMIF prototype accelerator is called LIPAc (Linear IFMIF Prototype Accelerator), and is a high-current deuteron linear accelerator with a total length of 36 m. This paper describes the outline of LIPAc, the test conditions at the Rokkasho site, and future plans. All accelerator devices will be connected to the beam line, and the integrated beam test of 9 MeV-125 mA using deuterons as the final stage of project mission will be conducted by the end of March 2020.
