Formation kinetics of the Ruddlesden-Popper phases. Communication 1. Mechanism of La2SrAl2O7 formation

Description
Phase formation processes in the system La2O3-SrO-Al2O3 heated to 1500 deg C were studied by the methods of X-ray phase, thermal and chemical analyses. It is shown that formation of LaAlO3 perovskite structure and perovskite-like laminated structures LaSrAlO4 and La2SrAl2O7 during solid-state chemical reaction is activated solely on reaching certain critical values of temperatures that correlate with transition temperatures of intergrain formations into liquid-like state (melting points of two-dimensional non-autonomous phases)
Abstract (Russian)
Методами рентгенофазового, термического и химического анализов исследованы процессы фазообразования в системе La2O3-SrO-Al2O3 при нагревании до 1500 град С. Показано, что формирование структуры перовскита LaAlO3 и перовскитоподобных слоистых структур LaSrAlO4 и La2SrAl2O7 при твердофазной химической реакции активируется только после достижения определенных критических значений температур, которые коррелируют с температурами перехода межзеренных образований в жидкоподобное состояние (температурами плавления двумерных неавтономных фаз)Additional details
