Cask cleaning device
Description
Purpose: To enable sufficient cleaning, as well as improve the safety of a cask cleaning device adapted to store and transfer the spent fuels used in nuclear power plants or the likes by the remote control of the operation for an air motor using a pneumatic pressure circuit. Constitution: The cask comprises a support for supporting a spray header having a spray nozzle vertically movable, a chain and sprocket assembly connected to the spray header, an elevating device comprising a transmission shaft, gearings, a speed retarder and an air motor for vertically moving the spray header, and a control device provided with a position detecting and switching device for rotating and stopping the spray header. The control device is provided with a mechanical valve actuating at the upper and the lower dead points of the header and formed with a pneumatic control circuit. This enables sufficient cleaning while operating the air motor by the remote control. (Horiuchi, T.)
