Description

The 0.2% offset yield stresses in beta-transformed zircaloy-4 cladding tubes were measured at room temperature, and compared to the calculated results from texture variations. The measured values of the 0.2% offset yield stress for uniaxial test were varied by changes in the tilt angle of the basal poles of the hexagonal zirconium crystals from the radial toward the tangential or the axial direction of the tube. The yield stress of the textured specimens were derived by using the quantitative pole fraction and the three principal axes of anisotropy. The theoretically derived yield stresses were in good agreement with the experimental results in beta-transformed zirconium alloys
