System for preparation of standard tritium gas sample for calibration of monitoring system

Description
Standard sample of low level tritium gas is necessary to examine the detailed performance of tritium monitoring system. We have designed a system based on the principle of the dilution to prepare tritium standard from commercially available tritiated methane gas with nitrogen gas. The system is capable of preparing 640 Nlmax of tritium standard with concentration in the range of 0.01∼1.0 pCi/cm3 at one time and is capable of supplying this gas at a constant flow rate of 5∼20 Nl/min. Following results are obtained by detailed examinations: (1) The concentration error of gas dilution is no more than ±5%, (2) The rate of gas leakage equals less than 632 ml/h, (3) The flow rate fluctuation of diluted gas is held to ±1%. 本研究では、高精度の低濃度で大量な希薄ガスを製造し、これを安定した濃度と流量でトリチウムモニタに供給するための装置を開発することを目的とした。本装置は、数ml∼数10mlの市販の標準トリチウムガス(以下、市販ガス)をチッ素ガスによって、ゴム袋(約0.5m3)内で一定比率に攪拌、希釈し、しかる後製造した希薄ガスを定常流で排出、供給するものである。ここで使用した市販ガスは、通常のモニタを較正するための製品(Johnston MODEL CL-1:240µCi/60Nℓ)で、メタンをトリチウム化したものである。本装置は1回の製造工程で500∼640Nl、0.01∼1.0pCi/cm3の任意の濃度の希薄ガスを製造し、かつ5∼20Nl/minの一定流量、1∼1.3kg/cm2の一定圧力でこれをトリチウム·モニタリング·システムに30min∼2h供給することができる。以下、装置の構造、原理および性能等に関して記述する。 (日本)Additional details
