Lifetime of fissionable nuclei produced in the alpha-bombardment of uranium isotopes
- 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR). Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Yadernoj Fiziki
Description
The lifetimes of the fissionable plutonium isotopes were measured using the shadow (blocking) effect. These isotopes were produced by bombarding of 235UO2 and 238UO2 single crystals with an α-particle beam and following emission of neutrons. The analysis of the experimental results in the framework of the statistical model of nuclear reactions was performed. (orig.)
