Nuclear reaction analysis of materials after modification
Description
Modifications of materials include mechanical, chemical or thermal treatment as well as irradiations. After such treatments the compositions and distributions of components (elements) may have changed. Depth profiling as well as lateral profiling by nuclear reactions allows the study of kinetics and in some cases the dynamics of the processes involved. For many materials the treatment as well as the analysis can be performed in situ as a function of the varying parameters mentioned. Composite sandwich targets (C-Th-C) as well as implanted metal samples were analysed. (orig.)
