Sulphur determination by proton-induced prompt gamma emission: the effect of the matrix and its importance in coal analysis

  • 1. Stellenbosch Univ. (South Africa). Dept. of Chemistry

Description

The determination of sulfur through γ-ray spectrometry induced by 5 MeV protons was chosen to study the effect of dilution and spike addition on the stopping power of the matrix and was applied to the determination of sulfur in coal. Changes in the matrix can not be ignored even for the spiking technique. (author)
