Radiographic evaluation of tissue-integrated prostheses

Creators

  • 1. Toronto Univ., Ontario (Canada). Faculty of Dentistry

Description

Radiographs are a key feature in the longitudinal clinical evaluation of tissue integrated prostheses (TIP). To be successful, the implants supporting the prosthesis must exhibit no clinically detectable mobility and no peri-implant radiolucency on radiographs of the region. Therefore a strict paralleling radiographic technique is required. A new radiographic holder was therefore designed to improve the quality and reproducibility of the radiographs compared to those obtained with an Eggan holder. (Auth.)
