Description

One separated new MPuO2(OOCH)2, M = NH4 and K composition binary formates from the neutral aqueous solutions. They turned to be the isostructural ones with the Np(V) relevant compounds. Indicating the powder roentgenograms one determined the parameters of the elementary cells of the synthesized compounds. Potassium substitution for ammonium external sphere cation was revealed to be responsible for the change of the crystalline lattice symmetry from the rhombic one up to the monoclinic one. One measured and analyzed the absorption electron spectra, studied the thermal behaviour, presented the IR-spectra of new compounds. One revealed the hexagonal-bipyramidal oxygen environment of Pu atoms in the compound structures. One describes the efforts to prepare Pu(V) simple formates and analyzes why the mentioned efforts have not met with success
