Condition monitoring can help minimise 'carbon' emissions

Description
Condition monitoring of rotating and stationary plant in power stations is now well accepted. Where it is integrated with maintenance scheduling and root cause failure analysis, it returns the greatest dividends in increasing plant reliability. Many CM methods are available. Applying the condition monitoring technique of performance analysis can give the additional benefit of reduced greenhouse emissions (or as popularly but wrongly called 'carbon'!). This paper demonstrates how this can be done, with pumps as an example of common power plant machines.
