Device for refueling a non-stationary nuclear reactor
Description
The manipulating pool containing magazines for fuel elements and a manipulator is put on the lower part of the naval reactor pressure vessel after the closure of the latter has been removed. Subsequently, the reactor vessel as well as the manipulating pool are flooded up to a certain level. The outer diameter of the manipulating pool being larger than the opening of the closure, a ledge is formed on which the magazines are installed, distributed over the circumference. By this means the inner space remains free for the movement of the manipulator. The manipulating pool may also consist of two concentric cylinder pools so that there may be obtained partial radiation shielding by means of non-demineralized water or sea water in the annulus. (DG)

Das Manipulierbecken mit Magazinen fuer BE und einem Manipulator wird auf das Druckbehaelterunterteil des Schiffsreaktors aufgesetzt, nachdem dessen Deckel entfernt wurde. Anschliessend erfolgt eine Flutung sowohl des Reaktorbehaelters als auch des Manipulierbeckens bis zu einem bestimmten Pegel. Da der Aussendurchmesser des Manipulierbeckens groesser ist als die Deckeloeffnung, entsteht ein Sims, auf dem die Magazine ueber den Umfang verteilt aufgestellt werden. Hierdurch bleibt der Innenraum fuer die Bewegungen des Manipulators frei. Das Manipulatorbecken kann auch aus zwei konzentrischen Zylinderbecken bestehen, so dass im Ringraum mit nicht entsalztem Wasser oder Seewasser eine Teilabschirmung durchfuehrbar ist. (DG)Files
