Earthquake-associated events. Annual safety research report, JFY 2010

  • 1. Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization, Seismic Safety Division, Tokyo (Japan)

Description

For the tsunami and slope stability as the earthquake-associated events that increased with the revision of the regulatory guide for reviewing seismic design of nuclear power reactor facilities, related technical standard and analysis code were leveled up to support the safety examination of the country. For tsunami study, analysis codes of river run-up, debris and tsunami trace database were developed and experimental and filed data for sedimentation were collected. For slope study, in addition to conventional stress criteria, in order to build a slope stability evaluation method, incorporating new indicators, such as deformation and strain, the following study was conducted. The framework of slope stable evaluation method (draft) was constructed. The data were obtained by the shaking table test. In addition, confirmed the applicability of the FEM and MPM analyses on slope. (author)
