Investigation of oxidative water chemistry regimes by electrochemical methods

  • 1. All-Union Heat Engineering Inst., Moscow 109280 (USSR)

Description

It is a commonly accepted scientific opinion that steel corrosion in a power plant condensate/feedwater equipment is mostly electrochemical. The paper presents the result of electrochemical investigations of a Fe-H2O-O2 system. The rig is arranged at the VTI Experimental Cogeneration Plant. The plant supplies many rigs and the 10% feedwater loss was made up by the running water previously passed through ion-exchangers. The test water was taken downstream of the de-aerator and upstream of the NH3-N2H4 injection point. Then it was cooled and additionally cleaned in a two-stage ion-exchanger
