Bending of a semiinfinite plate weakened by a crack with contacting edges

Description
Basic boundary-value problems have previously been considered [1,2] for the bending of a semiinfinite Kirchhoff plate containing a crack system. It has been assumed that the edges of the cracks do not come into contact during bending. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of crack edge contact on the interaction with the edge of a semiinfinite plate during bending. 6 refs., 3 figs
