Description

Highlights: • Sample crystallizes in the orthorhombic structure with Pnma space group. • The compound presents a nano-metric size. • La0.885Pb0.005Ca0.11FeO2.95is a p-type semiconductor. • The La0.885Pb0.005Ca0.11FeO2.95 compound is a sensor of NH3 even with low concentration equal to 10 ppm. • T = 270 °C is the operating temperature of our sensor. -- Abstract: The La0.885Pb0.005Ca0.11FeO2.95 sample has been prepared using the sol-gel method based on the use of citric acid. In this research paper, structural, morphological and NH3 gas-sensing properties have been reported. The structural study has proven that our sample crystallized in the orthorhombic structure with Pnma space group. The electrical and gas sensing measurements have shown that the La0.885Pb0.005Ca0.11FeO2.95 sample presents p-type semiconductor behavior and can be able to detect the ammonia gas with different concentrations from 10 to 100 ppm with quick response times. We have noted that we had obtained the highest sensitivity at 270 °C considered as the operating temperature of our sensor.
