Description
A general analytical method is presented in this paper for evaluating the axially symmetric vibration characteristics of an elastic thick cylindrical shell with homogeneous boundary conditions and time-dependent boundary conditions of any type subjected to arbitrary loads. Numerical results indicate that the improved theory or the three-dimensional theory should be employed in research, when the thickness-radius ratio of the cylinder, especially when its thickness-length ratio and the wave number is larger.
