Scientific and practical aspects of processing and using of local carbon containing raw materials in aluminium production

Description

The aim of the work is to develop scientific, practical, and technological bases for the use of local carbon containing raw martials - anthracite, coal and carbon comprising industrial wastes in the production of electrodes, as well for the electrolytic production of aluminium. For the first time, the physicochemical and physical and mechanical characteristics of anthracite from the Nazaraylok Deposit at low, medium, and high temperatures of heat treatment (250-1700 deg C) have been determined, as well as the infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, EPR, and X-ray diffraction, its possible structural transformations have been revealed, the changes in capacity are determined. For the first time, an assessment of anthracite from Nazaraylok Deposit is given as a raw material for the production of anodes, side and bottom blocks, as well as a filling material for firing the hearth of aluminium electrolytic cells. For the first time, the stability of anthracite from the Nazaraylok Deposit heat-treated at temperature 1400 deg C has been established and its suitability for the production of electrodes has been proved. For the first time, the possibility of obtaining a primary electrolytic aluminium alloy in electrolytic cells operating on cryolite-alumina concentrated obtained from the carbon containing solid wastes of Joint Stock Company TALKO has been established. The possibility of using of synthesis gas obtained from anthracite and other coals of the Republic of Tajikistan instead of natural gas in the production technology of electrodes and chemical products has been established.
