Description
We use the method of QCD sum rules to investigate both the Δ-N and Σ0-Λ mass splittings. In the case of the Δ-N mass splitting, our numerical results indicate that the mass splitting is dominated primarily by the quark-gluon condensate left-angle 0|gcbarqσμν(λa/2)Gaμνq|0 right-angle and the observed mass splitting may be understood. In the case of Σ0-Λ mass splitting, we obtain a value of about 66 MeV, which is slightly smaller than the observed value of 77 MeV
