Tooth X-ray as a cue to species of shark

Information on attacking species is important for research on anti-shark measures. The examination of teeth and chips recovered after an attack provides the best and, in practically all cases, the only means of achieving a reliable identification. Since more chips are generally recovered than intact teeth, the extraction of the maximum taxonomic information from such fragments becomes of the utmost importance.
