Experimental studies of the structure of transition elements

Creators

Description

The experimental methods for high resolution emission spectroscopy of line-rich elements are briefly described. A review is given of the general atomic structure of the neutral and singly ionized transition group elements. Details of the structure are compared between elements within a period and homologous elements in different periods. Measurements of hyperfine and isotope structure are discussed, with examples from recent work. (orig.)
