Investigation of the effect of pebble inventory porosity fluctuations on the temperature fields in a HTGR type reactor core
Description
The effect of the pebble inventory porosity fluctuations on the temperature and heat flux radial distributions in the AVR reactor core has been calculated. The finite-difference method and an algorithm written in Fortran for the BESM-6 computer were used in the calculations. The account of the fuel porosity fluctuations at the core periphery has been found to effect significantly the helium outlet temperature equalling 1250 deg C in the maximum, while being only about 1O70 deg C disregarding the porosity fluctuations
