Radial velocities of separate filaments in the Cygnus Loop nebula

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR). Gosudarstvennyj Astronomicheskij Inst. ''GAISh''

Description

The radial velocities of the motion of 40 separate extended filaments of the supernova remnant Cygnks Loop are determined. The radial velocities are determined by maximum of the Hsub(α) line profile on the basis of the experiments performed in 1967-1968 at the 125 cm reflector of the Southern station of GAISH. The distribution of the Hsub(α) line half-widths in selected filaments is presented. In average the line half-width corresponds to 59 km/s. It has been found that radial velocities of filament are enclosed in the range of velocities from 16 to 19 km/s
