No crystallization to honeycomb or Kagome in free space

Description
It is intuitive that if an infinite system of particles that interact through an isotropic potential has a crystalline ground state at zero chemical potential, it is of high symmetry. Here, we present an argument why a honeycomb or a Kagome structure cannot be the ground state at zero chemical potential, for a large class of potentials in R2
