Investigation of temperature boundary layers with the aid of holographic interferometry

Description

Holographic interferometry according to the real-time method allows continuous registration of temperature fields in transparent fluids and thereby also the study of unsteady phenomena. Evaluation of the interference figures produces results - if the light deflection in the temperature boundary layer is acccounted for - whose relative error for the temperature gradient at the wall and for the temperature difference characterizing the heat transfer is less than or equal to 5%. For the resulting heat transfer an average may be given which is less than 10%. (orig./RW)

Abstract (German)

Die holographische Interferometrie nach der Real-time-Methode ermoeglicht die kontinuierliche Aufzeichnung von Temperaturfeldern in transparenten Fluiden und damit auch die Untersuchung instationaerer Vorgaenge. Die Auswertung der Interferenzbilder liefert unter Beachtung der Lichtablenkung in der Temperaturgrenzschicht Ergebnisse, deren relativer Fehler fuer den Temperaturgradienten an der Wand und fuer die den Waermeuebergang kennzeichnende Temperaturdifferenz kleiner gleich 5% ist. Fuer den resultierenden Waermeuebergang laesst sich ein mittlerer Fehler angeben, der kleiner als 10% ist. (orig./RW)
