Description
By treating the ion Bernstein wave as a driven response to the fast Alfven wave, a second order mode-conversion equation is derived for ion cyclotron resonance heating in two-ion species plasma. This equation is integrated numerically. The results are in good agreement with those obtained from higher order equation. The hot alpha particle power absorption is important only when the damping is weak
