Synergistic extraction studies of Am(III) and Eu(III) with Bis(2-ethylhexyl) di thiophosphoric acid (HDEHDTP) and some nitrogen or phosphorous compounds

The extraction of Am(III) and Eu(III) from perchlorate aqueous media of constant ionic strength (0.1 M; H+, NaCl O4) using bis(2-ethylhexyl) di thiophosphoric acid (HDEHDTP) and its mixtures with tri-n-octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO) or bathophenanthroline (BATHO) in xylene was studied. The stoichiometry of the equilibria were ascertained and the extraction constants (Kex), (Ksyn) and (βn) of the different species were evaluated. The same investigations were carried out from nitrate media and the behaviour of the two elements was compared in terms of the obtained data.6 fig
