Forecasting of rare earth binary compounds and their properties by computer

The results of calculation of discriminant functions of rare-earth compounds of the composition Lnsub(n)Bsub(m) and their properties with the use of chalcogenide compounds of rare-earth elements are presented. The discriminant function of rare-earth compounds is calculated within the framework of a simplified model of a condensed medium. The use of the simplified model of a condensed medium, the discriminant and regression statistical methods of analysis made it possible to develop algorithms for computerized prediction of the compositions and physicochemical properties of rare-earth elements of the type Lnsub(n)Bsub(m). The prediction results are in good agreement with the accumulated experimental material
