Multilocular cystic nephroma

Description
Correct preoperative diagnosis of multilocular cystic nephroma is difficult. The decisive feature is visualization of a predominantly cystic process, which, however, might simulate a solid/cystic formation on CT and ultrasound examinations owing to the presence of multiple interspaces. The visualization of cysts in septa requires optimal CT and ultrasound techniques. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Es ist mit Schwierigkeiten verbunden, die korrekte Diagnose des multilokulaeren zystischen Nephroms praeoperativ zu erreichen. Entscheidend ist die Darstellung eines ueberwiegend zystischen Prozesses, der jedoch wegen reichlicher Septenentwicklung bei der CT- und Ultraschalluntersuchung einen soliden/zystischen Aufbau imitieren kann. Die Darstellung von Zysten in Septen setzt eine optimale CT- und Ultraschalltechnik voraus. (orig.)Additional details
