Neon laser pumped by electron beam of compact accelerator

  • 1. Institute of High-Current Electronics, Tomsk (USSR)

Description

Two compact neon plasma lasers are described in which the gas mixture is pumped by a transverse or longitudinal electron beam, and test results are presented. IMA3-150E sealed electron tubes are used, and the electron beam is focused by samarium-cobalt permanent magnets. Generation with a repetition frequency of up to 50 Hz is obtained in neon (λ = 585.3 nm) and xenon (λ = 1.73 μm)
