Extraction-spectrophotometric determination of ruthenium (3), rhodium (3) and iridium (3) by reaction with α-benzylmonooxime in the presence of carbonate ion

Description
An extraction-spectrophotometric method of ruthenium(3) determination in mixture with α-benzylmonooxime(BO) in the presence of carbonate ion is developed. Ru with BO forms the complex of 1:2 composition of pink-violet colour (lambdasub(max)=480 nm) in the presence of carbonate ion and at pH 8.5-9.5. The complex is non-soluble in the water and is extracted with chloroform (R approximately 100%). The optimal range of the Ru determined concentration equals to 0.5-7.6 mkg/ml
