Description
Highlights: • Standard molar volumes of four 2-alkoxyethanosl in water are presented. • Data were obtained in the range T from (298 to 573) K and p up to 30 MPa. • Data are analyzed and compared with those of similar solutes. Densities of dilute aqueous solutions of four 2-alkoxyethanols H-(CH2)n-O-CH2-CH2-OH (n = 1, 2, 3, 4) measured in the temperature range from (298 to 573) K and at pressures up to 30 MPa using an automated flow vibrating-tube densimeter are reported. Standard molar volumes were evaluated from the measured data. The present study is an extension of recent measurements performed at atmospheric pressure in the temperature range from (278 to 343) K. Trends in the present homologous series are evaluated and a comparison with results previously measured for the homologous series of similar solutes (poly(ethylene glycols), glymes) is presented.
