Determination of 131I in thyroid cysts with regard to the radionuclide kinetics

Description
After oral administration iodine 131 is demonstrable within hours and days in thyroid cyst fluid. This iodine concentration may be caused by active metabolism in the cyst, depending on thyroid function. Highest levels of iodine 131 are found in autonomous nodules. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Nach p. o. Verabreichung von Jod 131 läßt sich in der Flüssigkeit von Strumazysten nach Stunden und Tagen Radiojod nachweisen. Diese Radiojodanreicherung scheint zeitabhängig und funktionsabhängig zu sein, scheint jedoch nicht mit der Zystenflüssigkeitsmenge oder -farbe zu korrelieren. Die höchsten Radiojodwerte werden 24 Stunden nach Jod 131-Gabe in zystisch abgeänderten autonomen Adenomen gefunden.Additional details
