Three-dimensional natural convection in a porous medium enclosed with vertical curved annulus

  • 1. Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan)

Description

Numerical analysis has been performed on three-dimensional natural convection in a porous medium bounded by vertical curved annulus. Darcy's law and Boussinesq's approximation are assumed to be applicable. Governing equations are numerically solved for two cases of vertical position to the gravitational field. Results show that the local Nusselt number on the outer wall has its maximum value at the upper part in both cases. (author)
