Description
The final part of a series on the TMI nuclear power plant accident is presented. Discussed are the radiation situation in the vicinity of the power plant after the accident, the first stage of the recovery programme (a new system of residual heat transfer, pressure control, controlled release of gaseous wastes, liquid waste treatment, waste storage in a fuel tank) and the role of the human factor during the accident.
