FY83 fuel storage basins surveillance and maintenance status report
Description
An informational update is provided on the FY83 irradiated fuel storage basins surveillance and maintenance activities and achievements. Section 2.0 provides information about the surveillance, and Section 3.0 the maintenance activities. Figures and Tables are presented to provide a quick overview of the changes observed within various parameters monitored. For a brief period in July the Cs-137 concentration in the KW basin went above Table II limits. This increase was not significant and no environmental impact or public health hazard resulted. Crane problems caused some minor delays in fuel shipments, but did not seriously impact the overall fuel shipment schedule. Several basin modification projects were initiated. One of these projects, the KE basin chiller, began successful operation near the end of the fiscal year
