Solvent extraction of thiocyanate complexes of tantalum by cyclohexanone
Description
The conditions have been studied of tantalum extraction with cyclohexanone in the presence of thiocyanate ions depending on pH of aqueous phase, concentration of NCS-ions and of an extragent. It has been established by physico-chemical analysis, infrared-spectroscopy, and NMR that extraction follows the hydrate-solvate mechanism with the formation of the [H(Hsub(2)O)sub(n)(CH)sub(2)][TaO(NCS)sub(4)]-type associates in the organic phase. Extraction properties of thiocyanate complexes of niobium and tantalum are compared
