Promoting polyethylene foams by irradiation crosslinking in Mexico

Description
Comparison between crosslinking of LDPE by gamma ray from a cobalt-60 source and by electron beam was studied. Post crosslinking of expanded polyethylene was also studied, to improve their mechanical properties; this process could be carried out in line. Ratio of scission and crosslinking yields and Rg (gel dose) were also determined. (Author)
