Cation-exchange behaviour of scandium, titanium and vanadium in different oxidation states in hydrofluoric acid diluted solutions

Description

Using static and dynamic methods distribution coefficients of scandium, titanium and vanadium in differet oxidation states between sulfocationite KRS-8p and hydrofluoric acid solutions in the range of concentrations 0.1 - 1.0 mol/l are determined. On the basis of investigations conducted a method of vanadium-48, 49 radionuclide separation from titanium target irradiated in a cyclotron is suggested. The method is tested using a real commercial target and it provided good results. The yield of vanadium-49 radionuclide constituted 97 %, specific activity is 1.75 x 1012 Bq/g and radiochemical purity is > 99 %
