Description

Highlights: • First report on the hydrothermal synthesis of U1-xThxO2 nanocrystals through hydrothermal decomposition of oxalates. • Facile to perform reproducible synthesis of nanosized mixed oxides. • Access to homogeneous, highly sinterable powders. • No grain size effect observed on the hardness or elastic modulus. • Serving as models for high burn-up structures in spent fuel.
