Effect of chronic γ-irradiation on the wild life and microplant life of a wooded ecosystem at Cadarache
- 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Cadarache, 13 - Saint-Paul-les-Durance (France). Service de Recherches Toxicologiques et Ecologiques
Description
Chronic gamma irradiation from a source placed in a forest ecosystem has a significant impact on living organisms, including entomofauna, microfauna, and microflora. After three years, there is indeed a demographic explosion of Psocids, a disappearance of Collembola in the most irradiated area, and a decrease in soil activity.
Abstract (French)
Additional details
