Pulse radiolysis studies of the interaction of hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives with oxidizing OH adducts of DNA

Description
Using a pulse radiolytic technique, it has been demonstrated that the interaction of oxidizing OH adducts of DNA with hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives proceeds via an electron transfer process with rate constant of (5∼7) x 108 dm3mol-1s-1. Besides, the rate for fast repair of OH adducts of dAMP and DNA (ssDNA and dsDNA) are slower than the corresponding rate for the rest OH adducts of DNA constituents. The slower rate for oxidizing OH adduct of dAMP and DNA has indicated that repair of oxidizing OH adduct of dAMP may be the rate determining process during the interaction of hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives with OH adduct of DNA containing the varieties of OH adducts of DNA constituents
