Control rod for nuclear reactor

Description

The present invention provides a control rod for a PWR type reactor with less irradiation expansion even if the time for the use is increased and preventing occurrence of cracks and rupture of a cladding tube to extend the working life remarkably. Namely, a control rod has a plurality of neutron absorbers accumulated in a cladding tube. The neutron absorber is formed by a silver-indium-cadmium alloy, and the neutron absorber in a lower portion has relatively a smaller silver content and a greater indium content than those of the upper neutron absorber. The neutron absorber comprises two kinds of upper and lower neutron absorbers. The content of the component element of the lower neutron absorber comprising silver Ag-indium In-cadmium Cd alloy satisfies the following formula. 90w% ≤ Ag + In ≤ 95w%, 50w% ≤ Ag ≤ 70w% and 20w% ≤ In ≤ 45w%.
