Analysis of reactor moderator water samples using liquid scintillation techniques
Description
Commercially available liquid scintillation (LS) counters are usually designed so that they can automatically count a large number of samples focusing attention on only a few of the most frequently used radionuclides. A single-sample LS counter has been developed incorporating features that allow a more flexible analysis of the signals generated by a pair of photomultiplier (PM) tubes. This instrument has been applied to the measurement of radioactivity contained in moderator water samples obtained from a small nuclear reactor
