A new possibility in the Kaluza-Klein framework
Description
The idea of a ''gravitoweak connection'', interpreting at least part of a spacetime torsion in terms of an interaction field, is modified and applied in the context of the Kaluza-Klein framework. In a total space M/sup 4/ x H, an ''intermediate'' torsion is introduced which is neither totally within the spacetime M/sup 4/ nor totally within the coset space H. The construction leads to the same 4-dimensional action as the standard Kaluza ansatz, but it is not equivalent to the latter. Simultaneous employment of the two ansatze, allows the unified classical description of gravity with the SU(3) and SU(2) x U(1) gauge fields in a M/sup 4/ x CP/sup 2/ manifold
