Description

The position of nuclear power in the overall energy policy of the USA, as compared with other energy sources, is discussed in the light of consumption needs and reserves. The decline of the U.S. nuclear power industry and the International energy policy are examined. The economic, geopolitical and energy shortage risks associated with U.S. dependence on Middle East Oil are considered in relation to risks arising from the use of nuclear energy, in particular the risk of nuclear proliferation.
