Operational characteristics of a clinical digital review station
Description
A six-monitor 512 X 512 digital viewing station in the Pediatric Radiology Section of the UCLA Medical Center began daily operation in March 1987. All pediatric inpatient images, including projection x-ray images, contrast studies, MR images, and relevant ultrasound images, are available. The primary usage of the system has been in daily scheduled pediatric radiologic conferences. The viewing station is also used for rapid patient review by the pediatric clinicians and radiologists during nonconference hours. This paper describes technical aspects of clinical operation, display characteristics and features, and data organization and presentation methods. Statistical performance data are also given
