Description

Compared to the uniaxial test, higher strength values under pressure from all sides, and lower strength values for combined compression/tension stress are to be expected with biaxial and triaxial strength tests. The knowledge of the multiaxial rupture and deformation behaviour of concrete is thus of considerable economic significance and directly concerns the safety question of concrete structures. Abstract (German)

Im Vergleich zum einaxialen Versuch sind bei zwei- und dreiaxialen Festigkeitsuntersuchungen unter allseitigem Druck hoehere, bei kombinierter Druck-/Zug-Beanspruchung aber niedrigere Festigkeitswerte zu erwarten. Die Kenntnis des mehraxialen Bruch- und Verformungsverhaltens von Beton hat damit erhebliche wirtschaftliche Bedeutung und beruehrt unmittelbar die Frage der Sicherheit von Betonkonstruktionen.
