CONDO. Software for estimating the consequences of decontamination options; report for CONDO version 1.0 (with database version 1.2)

Decisions on whether to carry out decontamination measures after an accident require information on the likely consequences of such measures, in terms of dose, resources required and the likely social impact. CONDO has been developed to enable these consequences of decontamination options to be estimated. To do this fully and in detail is both a very complex task and would require much detailed information from the user. As a first step, therefore, Version 1.0 of CONDO provides scoping information, based on limited user input and default data held in a database. The results from this version of CONDO enable a decision maker to scope the extent and scale of the problem being faced, and to identify those options which should be excluded from further study and those for which more detailed investigation is warranted. This report describes CONDO Version 1.0, together with the contents of its associated database (Version 1.2) and the calculational methodology. (author)
