CT differentiation criteria between adenocarcinoma and malignant lymphoma of the stomach

Description

CT examinations in gastric adenocarcinoma (12 patients) differ clearly from the diffuse wall thickenings in malignant gastric lymphoma (7 patients) by displaying focal thickenings of the gastric wall. Before performing biopsy, it is often necessary to effect differentiation and staging, and to lay down a preliminary interdisciplinary oncological treatment concept. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Die computertomographischen Untersuchungen beim Adenokarzinom des Magens (12 Patienten) unterscheiden sich durch fokale Magenwandverdickungen deutlich von den diffusen Wandverdickungen beim malignen Lymphom des Magens (7 Patienten). Haeufig sind vor der Biopsie eine Differenzierung, eine Stadieneinteilung und ein vorlaeufiges interdisziplinaeres onkologisches Therapiekonzept festzulegen. (orig.)
